Norman McLaren

Selection of drawings by Norman McLaren for the film Narcissus/Narcisse, which he made in 1983. The landscapes were to have been used as backdrops for various scenes in the film but were not used in the final version. McLaren wanted to superimpose dancers on the backgrounds but after several tests, he realized that synchronizing their movements with the film's action was an enormous task that would add nothing to the story and he abandoned the idea.
