Drawing by Norman McLaren representing a game of tic-tac-toe or noughts and crosses in four dimensions. He was inspired by the tesseract (a four-dimensional cube) to imagine a wealth of objects both large and small.

Center squares not used as they are common to too many diagonals - the person who places a mark in the very center one is sure to win.
