Norman McLaren's Portrait / by Moe Reinblatt. - 1975. - Drawing : Conté charcoal pencil on canvas : 98 x 70 cm

Norman McLaren's portrait realized by Moe Reinblatt. Donation from Mrs Lilian Reinblatt to the National Film Board of Canada in 1985.

"This charcoal conté portrait was done by my late husband in 1975, when he did a series of well known Canadians, as well as persons and friends he knew and respected. The size is 30" x 40" and is unframed. Although he asked that I keep the series of these portraits intact (these have been exhibited at the Waddington Galleries in Montreal, as well as the Saidye Bronfman Centre), he did 2 portraits of Norman, which he thought very good." (Excerpt from a letter from Mrs Lilian Reinblatt to Jean-Claude Mahé, NFB Assistant Commissioner, dated July 19, 1985.)

"Norman McLaren has already called me, and is delighted with our donation. He remembers, well, sitting for the said portrait." (Excerpt from a letter from Mrs Lilian Reinblatt to Jean-Claude Mahé, NFB Assistant Commissioner, dated August 17, 1985.)
