Overall Objective
Students will learn about the motivations, influences and approaches to producing documentary film in Canada from 1941 to the present. They will become more aware of the challenges and benefits of living in a diverse society. They will study how media constructs representations of ethnocultural groups, thereby influencing popular perception.Â
Grade level
Advanced 9-12 and beyond. This unit can be adapted to younger grades and different courses of study in various Canadian provinces and territories.
