  Description     The film
On June 10, 1940, the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini declared war on Britain and its Allies. The same day, Canadian Prime Minister W. L. Mackenzie King invoked the War Measures Act. This authorized the RCMP to round up those Italian Canadians whose loyalty to Canada seemed uncertain. The original CBC broadcast of King's speech and archival Montreal newspaper clippings tell the story.
