Description
Information regarding opportunities, benefits and land grants was withheld from Aboriginal veterans who had served in World War II. First Nations leaders were persuaded by the government to surrender reserve land that was subsequently sold to non-Aboriginal veterans at cheap prices. Chief Gerry Attachie recalls living without a home for five years because of this policy.
