Description
Even though the Quebec government refused to grant them any form of governmental autonomy in 1981 or the right to deploy their own fishery management plan in 1984, the Listuguj Mi’kmaq people continued to fight. In the end, they succeeded in imposing their salmon-fishing management plan.
