Located northeast of Calgary in Alberta's badlands, the Drumheller Valley is known for its diverse and unique moonscape-like topography. The area evolved from wetlands to glaciers to rushing melt water to its present day arid, lifeless riverbed that provides an ecosystem for several plant and animal species.
