From sending the proceeds of a lemonade stand to the World Wildlife Fund at the age of 7, Simon Jackson has always believed in the power of one. At 13, he founded the Spirit Bear Youth Coalition, one of the first youth-run organizations with the hope of creating a new type of environmental advocacy group. This Coalition helped create a land-use agreement with logging companies, First Nations and all levels of government to create a framework for sustainability on the B.C. coast. Jackson remains the chairman of the Spirit Bear Youth Coalition, which has grown to a network of more than 6 million, with members in more than 65 countries.
