The film
As Canada expanded its national park system in the 1980s, residents of the Queen Charlotte Islands, keen to protect old growth rainforest from logging, lobbied for a park on Moresby Island-part of the Haida First Nation's ancestral territory. The Haida were later signatories to a 1993 agreement that established Gwaii Haanas National Park and the Haida Heritage Site.
