Excerpt  (1:18) 1943
Thousands of Canadian women got involved in wartime volunteer activities. The Women's Voluntary Services (WVS) Division was established in 1941 to coordinate their efforts. This 1943 newsreel, seen in theatres across North America, reports on Princess Alice's visit to the agency's Ottawa office. Her wartime duties included an honorary rank with the Royal Canadian Air Force Women Division.
