Description The film
Almost 700,000 French citizens worked as forced labour in Nazi war industries. This policy is attributed to growing Nazi desperation: Germans are suffering massive losses to the "Russian meat grinder" on the Eastern front. A link is made to the growing incidence of sabotage within German factories. Dark scenes of "fascist slavery" contrast with brighter depictions of Allied labour practices.

This film on the mobilization of manpower during World War II shows how the workers on production lines produced a tremendous volume of materials for the Allied war effort. It points out that after the war these workers expect to find the opportunities of peace.
