Film  (11:00) 1952, director:
Description
The Port of Flowing Grain: The lakehead cities of Fort William and Port Arthur--funnelling centre for thousands of bushels of western grain that pass eastward to world markets. Surgery Is Safe: With modern advances in surgery, equipment and anesthetics, operations such as this appendectomy performed on Henry Brown become routine. Home-Made Community: Carleton Heights, near Ottawa, provides an example of cooperative housing as we see how veterans' homes were built through the pooling of construction skills and manual labour, and the support of government loans.
